(Top) Many windows of this pattern were found scattered throughout the superstructure debris. All of the windows shown here lead to first-class cabins, and although they could be opened, when the windows were closed in rough weather, fresh air could still be admitted through the decorative grills above. (Above) A section of an original builder’s plan, showing cabins A-18 and A-20. Windows from these staterooms were located in deteriorated sections of superstructure. |
