1445 A large painted and carved oak panel from the 1st Class Promenade deck Aft Staircase with arched decoration surmounted by a gilt acanthus scrolling mount, flanked by ornate floral scrolls and wheatears, a small break­front shelf and square-shaped panel to the centre with circular aperture decorated with gilt banding, scrolls and swags, flanked by pilasters, raised on a plinth base, 64½ in. x 110 in, high, inscribed in chalk on the reverse, “Staircase Aft Promenade Deck SS 400”.  See illustration.
